Extremely Drinkable, Amazing Value Reds.

Mike Press Pinot Noir 2010
Adelaide Hills, S.A.

Burgundy it isn’t, however this mid-weight pinot delivers more bang for buck than anything else at the price.  With a commitment to making the best value wine possible, this fruit forward style has sweet cherry & plum, a wee bit of spice & fine, slippery tannins.

Ventisquero Merlot  2011
Maipo Valley, CHILE

Merlot has had a bad wrap for too long now, which is a shame considering it is a major component of some of the world’s most expensive wines.  Whilst this pretty little thing doesn’t have delusions of grandeur, it does hit the mark; pure blackcurrent fruit, a whiff of vanilla, dusty notes & fine tannins.
Ventisquero Merlot

$18.00

Dal Zotto Sangiovese Cabernet  2011 King Valley, VIC
A true Italian blend that remains faithful to the style; bright red fruit, sour cherry & dried herbs gives way to plummy notes, classic, leafy cabernet & soft tannins.  Great length & structure-bring on lunch!
Dal Zotto Sangiovese Cabernet

Atze’s Corner “Big A” Shiraz  2011 Barossa Valley, S.A.
Traditional Barossa shiraz may not necessarily be considered drinkable by some, but we’ve uncovered a gem that may change your mind.  With help from Kalleske & Spinifex, this is moulded in a modern style; lifted fruit with loads of plum, super soft & slurpy, it is lighter than the nose would have you think.  Velevety tannins & good acidity.
Atze’s Corner “Big A” Shiraz

Another trip to the Barossa, another new generation wine maker challenging popular conception about the region.  Lovey nose of whole bunch spice, fresh strawberry & raspberry, anise & a lick of oak.  Beautifully textured & structured.
